Hello! My name is Jacquiline Dapra, and I have been teaching and tutoring for almost 20 years. I graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and received my Multiple Subject Credential from Point Loma University. While working towards my credential, I started teaching at the Sylvan Learning Center in San Marino. I was there for five years, tutoring kids of all ages in math, reading, and study skills. I was also a substitute teacher for all grade levels at different public schools during that time. Even though I've had experience working with grades K-8, most of my formal teaching has been with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.
My first full-time teaching job was at Immaculate Conception School, where I taught 5th grade for two years. My second full-time teaching job was at St. Stephen Martyr School, where I taught 3rd and 4th grade for eight years. A few of those years included teaching a combo class for both grades. I have been at San Gabriel Mission Elementary School for the last eight years. I taught 5th and 3rd grade and served as the Resource teacher for the last couple of years. I am very passionate about my career and committed to my students. Besides having a strong work ethic, I'm also very creative, energetic, and well-organized. I have created a fun and comfortable classroom environment while instilling an enthusiasm for learning.
