San Gabriel Mission Elementary loves our grandparents...and all the special people in the lives of our students. Today we celebrated our Grandparents and all of our special relatives with a Mass celebrated by Father Ray. Visit to the Vatican Splendors Exhibit at Ronald Reagan Library

Our upper junior high classes had the opportunity to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and experience the Vatican Splendors Exhibit before it journeys on to its next location. The exhibition had many works of art and other significant objects that have never left the Vatican. It illustrated the evolution of the Church and its papacy starting with Saint Peter all the way through the papacy of Pope Francis. Students also toured the Library exhibits and went aboard the same Air Force One that flew President Reagan over 600,000 miles.

Welcome Back To School!

We kicked off the school year with our first Mass celebrated by our new Claretian priests, Father Ray Smith and Father Paulus Marandi. Celebrating Mass as a student body is a gift for our families, staff, and students and we are most grateful for the opportunity to live our faith. In the words of Pope Francis, "Let us thank all those who teach in Catholic schools. Educating is an act of love; it is like giving life."

Archdiocese of Los Angeles Awards San Gabriel Mission Elementary C3 Ignite Grant

San Gabriel Mission Elementary School gratefully announces receipt of a "C3 Ignite" Grant from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles' Department of Catholic Schools. The C3: Ignite Grant will provide Mission Elementary with Sprint connected Apple iPad air devices to accelerate the learning and growth of all our students starting in the new school year. The grant further provides educational content resources and training and support for our teachers. Archbishop José H. Gomez remarked, “C3: Ignite will enable our schools to utilize the power of technology with their compelling focus on faith formation, academic excellence and improved opportunities for the students and their families.” We are both excited and thankful to embark on this new program that will help us focus on personalized learning for our students.

Robotics Classes with LEGO® Bricks Well Received!

Our Bricks4Kidz classes have begun and are off to a great start! The response was so great that we had to have two sessions - Monday and Friday. We are getting great feedback from our students so any parent interested in the next session can call the School Office for more information!

Students Make Blankets for Homeless Shelter

Thank you to our students and teachers for making blankets for the local homeless shelter. The blankets were delivered to Union Station Homeless Shelter & Services in Pasadena before Easter break where they were happily received! During this Easter season let us pray for all the families that this shelter serves!
