Our Stories

SGMES IS A PROUD MEMBER OF THE STEM NETWORK!

STEM education is far more than the offering of a STEM-related after school class or doing "projects" in Science class. True STEM education is the integration of inquiry-based learning across the curriculum, where science, technology, math and engineering concepts are interwoven throughout all disciplines and where students, throughout their school day, are challenged to problem-solve, collaborate with their classmates and dive more deeply into meaningful subject matter. At SGMES, students in all grades are a part of a grade band (K-2, 3-5 and 6-8) and have dedicated and passionate STEM, ELA and Humanities teachers who guide student learning in daily blocks of time. This combination of meaningful content, student-driven learning and passionate teachers means students experience school in progressive and innovative ways. At SGMES, we strive to EMPOWER students with SKILLS TO SUCCEED and INTEGRITY TO TRANSFORM!
